Job Summary: 

Performs various manual tasks in the repair and protection of concrete structures and related work in an efficient, productive, and quality-oriented manner.  Performs traffic control and flagging activities as needed; follows safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices; duties may vary according to job assignment. Operates pickups and flatbed trucks (not requiring a commercial driver’s license), and miscellaneous hand tools in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures; conducts routine equipment maintenance
and daily equipment inspections according to County standards.  Reports safety hazards and traffic problems. 

Min Qualifications:

2 + years experience as a concrete construction laborer as well as 2+ years experience working in traffic control.  Excellent communication skills. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Knowledge of: materials, methods, and the tools involved in work zone traffic control; knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

NCDOT Traffic Control Flagger's card

Complete First Aid/CPR training programs

Valid driver's license with clean driving record
