Position Overview

Romanoff Heating and Cooling is seeking professional and highly skilled COD Service Technicians to perform diagnostic services, repairs, and preventative maintenance on all types and brands of residential and light commercial heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.  We are dedicated to providing our customers with world-class services and providing them with an exceptional, value driven customer experience by employing and dispatching the very best skilled, trained, and caring service professionals to their homes and businesses. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all types and brands of residential equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance services and recommending needed repairs
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, vendors, and managers
  • Document completely and concisely your findings, repairs and suggestions on each call
  • Complete all service and preventative maintenance checklists as required by each call
  • Present customers with service ticket and collect payment before leaving job site
  • Attend and participate in the weekly service meetings and all training opportunities offered
  • Be willing to work extended hours during the peak seasons and on-call rotation as needed
  • Maintain a company vehicle and perform a monthly vehicle inspection with documentation
  • Responsible for upkeep of company issued tools and maintaining truck inventory levels
  • Wear a clean uniform daily and present yourself in a courteous and professional manner
  • Must be willing to train and mentor new service technicians and be a team player

Experience and Qualification Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 2-5 Years of relevant HVAC service experience
  • Must have a good driving record, clean background and able to pass a drug screen
  • Must have a professional appearance
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (written and orally)
  • EPA Certification (Minimum Type 1 & 2)

Preferred Qualification Requirements

  • Technical School Graduate or currently attending a tech school
  • Universal EPA certification
  • Nate Certified
  • Experience with multi-stage, variable speed, and modulating HVAC equipment
  • Experience with Honeywell and other OEM Zone Systems and Controls

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting
  • Must be able to speak English and hear to communicate
  • Must be able to use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools
  • Must be able to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding, (using the appropriate fall protection requirements)
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, gloves and safety toe, construction-grade work boots
