Plan, develop, coordinate and manage onsite construction engineering activities for large, extensive projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track project quantities

  • Generate project billing

  • Initiate and negotiate change orders

  • Generate CAD drawings and present solutions to owners for design problems that arise in the field

  • Review plan changes

  • Develop project work plans

  • Develop project schedules

  • Manage submittal data

  • Manage material purchase orders

  • Secure project subcontracts

  • Approve subcontract payments

  • Assist in division field personnel management

  • Assist field personnel in any capacity to handle any problems that may arise

  • Help coordinate subcontractors in the field

  • Work with project superintendents on ways to perform work more effectively

  • Project quality control

  • Track equipment utilization

  • Track equipment costs

  • Attend preconstruction meetings

  • Assist in finding material and subs for jobs being bid

  • Quantity take-off

  • Meet with owners to inquire about upcoming projects

  • Ensure weekly safety meetings are held

  • Work with safety department on safety plans

  • Work with safety department to develop effective preconstruction surveys

  • Assist in the coordination of the annual safety training

Education and Experience:

Four year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience. Minimum of 5 years similar construction engineering experience. Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines. Registration as a Professional Engineer is valuable.
