This temporary position is needed through the academic year, 10-11 month assignment. There will be a two week time frame in December-January with no scheduled work due semester break.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform painting duties, which may include, but not be limited to,

•Painting of buildings, fixtures, and equipment
•Prepare surfaces for paint or other coatings, mix, and match paint

Minimum Experience/Education

One year of Commercial Painting experience

Completion of High school Diploma or equivalent.

Department Required Skills

•Independent and self motivated person that can easily set up and maintain a constant workflow while prioritizing work to meet the Department goals.
•Ensure equipment, furniture, and other items present in the work area are covered appropriately and personnel in the immediate area warned of hazards inherent to the work practices. Maintain safe and clean work site.
•Clean, sand, patch, prime and otherwise prepare areas to be painted.
•Be able to select proper type of paint and finish appropriately and match as necessary to existing paint.
• Prepare and patch drywall wood or plaster as necessary to paint or stain in a professional manner.
•Plan work so as not to be disruptive to other staff, faculty, and students who may also occupy the work area.
•Utilize proper equipment for the appropriate application of various coatings.
•Apply initial and final coats of paint to walls and ceilings with appropriate finishes.
•Set-up ladders in a safe and proper manner as may be required by site conditions. May be required to paint using a lift or rolling scaffold.
•Assist other employees of lesser knowledge or technique.
•Assist CE maintenance staff as needed for general construction duties or clean up
