Human Resources Generalist with Spanish language skills

MAUSER USA LLC has an opportunity for a plant human resources coordinator for our drum manufacturing facilities in the Charlotte, NC area.

Mauser is a leading global supplier of industrial packaging solutions, manufacturing a variety of plastic, steel and fiber containers for a diverse customer base spanning industries including oil & gas, food & beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical, amongst others.  Mauser is experiencing significant growth – both organically as well as through acquisition – therefore the opportunities for successful individuals can be significant. 

Mauser acquired this facility, which produces Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs), an industrial packaging product for a wide variety of uses and industries, in 2015.  The plant has undergone significant change under Mauser’s leadership and will continue to do so as we seek to implement Mauser’s policies on hiring, people, performance management and training.  Therefore, we are seeking an HR Coordinator that can help drive people process changes in the plant as well as to assist with general administrative duties. 

Key areas of responsibility will be recruitment and selection of front line production talent, new hire onboarding and training, general personnel paperwork and payroll coordination (Mauser is currently in the midst of a project to centralize most payroll functions out of the corporate office) and basic employee relations.      

Main Position Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with Human Resource Business Partner and Talent Acquisition team to understand front line recruitment needs and respond with strategies on recruitment, screening and selection of hourly production candidates.
  • Interface with local temporary agencies to supplement efforts to ensure the facility remained fully staffed.
  • Completion of new hire screening including drug and background checks.
  • New hire onboarding and paperwork completion including new hire orientation.
  • Training new employees on basic MAUSER policies, procedures and practices.
  • Tracking of key facility metrics (i.e. turnover, employee engagement, training, etc.)
  • Creating and maintaining of personnel records manually and electronically.
  • Key employee interface with employees around engagement and employee relations (benefits, salary, etc.)
  • Assistance with training managers on our payroll system and answering questions regarding its use
  • Completion of basic monthly reporting as required by corporate or finance
  • Responds to employer and third party inquiries regarding current and former employees
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Key Attributes / Behaviors

  • Prior basic level human resources experience (recruiting, hiring, interviewing, onboarding); 2-5 years preferred
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and reports
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent; bachelor’s degree a plus
  • Good facilitation skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bi-lingual Spanish language skills
  • Must be comfortable in executing the tactical / mundane with an eye on the future state
  • Experience in implementing repeatable systems or processes highly valued
  • Ability to properly balance employee advocacy and business requirements
