Job Summary

Provide on-site supervision and work under the direction of the superintendent, who leads the efforts of both regular employees and subcontractors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Monitor daily activities and compile reports on progress, compliance, and obstacles.
  • Inspect completed and in progress structures and sites for safety, compliance, and conforming to material and structural needs.
  • Enforce safety and legal regulations to ensure a safe job site.
  • Communicate with subcontractors and field staff to ensure adherence to schedules, plans, and specifications.
  • Maintain records of the work carried out and any safety issues should be kept in an organized manner, as the superintendent may be given a budget to be meet.
  • Some of the work, such as record-keeping, report-writing, analyses, and communication efforts may be done in an office, so computer skills are necessary.
  • May also be expected to carry out some construction duties.

Education and/or Experience                                                    

 

High school diploma or GED and two+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills                                                            

 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

 

Mathematical Skills                                                      

 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

 

Current driver's license; state HVAC/Plumbing licenses a plus

Must be able to travel at least 50% of the time.
